Questions about testing

What do I need to become a ReRise Notes tester?

An Android phone and a Google account. Use the same account in all three steps: in the testers group, on the Google Play testing page and in Google Play on your phone.

Is testing ReRise Notes free?

Yes. Closed testing is free: you install ReRise Notes from Google Play like any other app and get updates earlier. We don't promise paid perks for taking part — just early access and a say in how the app develops.

Can I leave the test?

Yes, at any time. Open the testing page play.google.com/apps/testing/com.rerise.notepad and leave the program, or leave the testers group. You can then uninstall the app or wait for the public version.

What data does the developer see?

The developer can see the email address of the Google account you used to join the group and the test (it is shown in Google Play Console), plus any feedback you send. How the app handles data on your phone is described in its privacy policy.

Why can't I find or install ReRise Notes on Google Play?

During closed testing the app is available only to test participants. Make sure the group, the testing page and Google Play on your phone all use the same Google account, and give it a little time — access sometimes takes a while.

Can I lose data in the test version?

It is a test version, so bugs are possible. For important data make a backup or export if the app supports it.

Only you can see your notes

Notes, checklists, photos and places are stored only on your phone, in an encrypted database. The app works without an account, has no ads or analytics, and audio and note text are never sent over the network. Internet is used only for OpenStreetMap tiles, the PRO model download and Google Play purchases. Android cloud backup is off — you move notes with your own password-protected backup.

Pricing

  • Free: notes, checklists, photos, places, encryption and offline dictation with the built-in model
  • PRO is a one-time purchase, no subscription: a more accurate speech model that also works offline
  • The PRO model takes 834 MB and needs a phone with hardware key attestation; it isn't available on some older phones, and the app tells you before you buy

Write to us
Does Ukrainian voice typing work without internet?

Yes. Recognition happens on the phone itself: the basic model is built into the app and works right after installation. You need no internet to record or recognise speech, and the audio never leaves the device.

How do I dictate Ukrainian text on my phone?

Open a note, tap Dictate and speak — up to five minutes at a time. The first time, Android asks for microphone access. After recognition the text appears in the note, and you can correct it.

How is the PRO model different from the free one?

The PRO model is more accurate with names, titles, addresses and tricky words. It's slower than the basic model, but after a one-time 834 MB download it works fully offline. Both are based on Whisper, an open-source speech recognition model.

Is the app available in English?

No, the interface is in Ukrainian only, and voice typing recognises Ukrainian speech. You can still type notes in any language with your keyboard.

How do I password-protect my notes?

ReRise Notes opens with your fingerprint or your phone's PIN, pattern or password, and the database is encrypted with AES-256. Auto-lock closes the notepad at once or after a set time. Without a screen lock the key can't be bound to your fingerprint or PIN — the app warns you about it.

How do I move my notes to a new phone?

Use Export in the password-protected backup section: the .rrsn file with your notes, photos and places is encrypted with a password of at least 8 characters. On the new phone, choose Import. The password isn't stored anywhere, so the backup can't be restored without it.

Does the app track my location?

No. It has no location permission: you add places yourself, as coordinates or a link. For map previews the phone downloads tiles from OpenStreetMap, and you can turn previews off in settings.

Which phones does ReRise Notes run on?

Android 9 and later with a 64-bit ARM processor. The PRO model needs a phone with hardware key attestation: it isn't available on some older models, and the app tells you so before you buy.
